The opening ceremony of the AI·IoT Education Support Center of College of Information and Communication Engineering was held at Engineering 1 on June 24th (Wed). The opening ceremony was attended by professors of major positions, including President Shin Dong Ryeol, Dean Yi June Ho, and Dean Chai Jong Seo.
The laboratory, which has been extensively renovated and recreated, is divided into a creation room and a challenge room. It is expected to provide a pleasant practice environment for students in the future. There is an exhibition hall in the hallway, so students' works will be displayed.
The center provides education of cording and AI·IoT, which are the basis of the fourth industry, not only for students at our university but also for outsiders. It will conduct practical exercises for our university’s courses, challenging semester and PBL education. and also provide high school coding camps connected with the community and an education for corporate engineers.
Furthermore, it plays the role of ‘makerspace’, where students think, make, fail, and challenge again, and will foster human resources with hands-on capabilities. To this end, it has a Prototype verification room with 3D printers, oscilloscopes and soldering irons in the creation room to help students’ start-up businesses.
Professor Kim Yong Serk has been appointed as the head of the center, while Professor Ko Jong Hwan will be in charge of AI education and Professor Kim Jung Rae will be in charge of IoT education.
President Shin Dong Ryeol said, “We expect that College of Information and Communication Engineering will play a central role in AI·IoT education in our university, and we hope that it will be opened to other colleges and be used as a PBL education center.”
Chai Jong Seo, dean of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, said, "Just like the name of the Creation Room and Challenge Room, I hope it will become a practical space where students visit anytime to create creative ideas, fail and challenge."
