The above campaign posters will be randomly attached for each dormitory building. Dormitory asked for a lot of interest and cooperation from the students in protecting the environment and saving energy. Hwang You Jin of Myeongryunhaksa (Seoul Dormitory) Office, who organized the campaign event, asked to follow the following living rules, even if it can be troublesome and students are busy. - President Shin Dong Ryeol served as Choheongwan at Sungkyunkwan Spring Seokjeon President Shin Dong-ryul served as Choheongwan at 2021 Sungkyunkwan Spring Seokjeon hosted by Sungkyunkwan (Director Son Jin Woo) on March 20 (Sat). Due to COVID-19, Spring Seokjeon was scaled down, such as omitting the performance of Munmyo ritual music. Seokjeon is a memorial service for Confucian scholars including Confucius, and was held as a national ceremony at Sungkyunkwan, a national university in the Joseon Dynasty. It is designated as National Intangible Cultural Heritage No. 85, and is held in Sungkyunkwan and local Hyanggyo every spring and fall. Choheongwan is the master of memorial rites, serving first liquor in Seokjeon. During the Joseon Dynasty, King and Yeonguijeong(a prime minister of the Joseon dynasty). After the Independence of Korea, it was served by the director of Sungkyunkwan or high-ranking officials. Son Jin Woo, director of Sungkyunkwan, said, “I would like to thank all executives of Sungkyunkwan and related organizations who prepared the event, and those who participated in Seokjeon and did their best to hold the memorial rites in the rain.”

- ‘2021 Conversation with the President’ was held successfully Our university held ‘2021 Conversation with the President’ on March 16 (Tue). The event was held at the Live Virtual Classroom of Engineering 2 Building in Natural Sciences Campus, and 380 freshmen, President Shin Dong Ryeol, Vice President Park Sun Kyu and academic affairs committee members were participated. This event was held to provide a place to ask questions about school, study and career for freshmen who could not come freely to campus due to COVID-19. Mobile invitations were sent to freshmen to receive applications and collect questions. Park Jang Ho (Department of Theater), former student president of School of Art, hosted the event and created a comfortable atmosphere. The event lasted 1 hour and 50 minutes, with president and academic affairs committee members answering questions from freshmen. Freshmen who participated until the end of the event were presented with Subway and Starbucks gift voucher. An iPad, AirPods and Bluetooth speakers were given through a raffle.

- Our university (SKKU) was selected as the best university for educational welfare support for disabled students in 2020 SKKU (both of Humanities and Social Sciences Campus and Natural Sciences Campus) was selected as the best university in the "Evaluation of Education Welfare Support for University Students with Disabilities" conducted by the National Institute of Special Education. This evaluation is conducted every three years to improve educational welfare support for students with disabilities and to guarantee their right to study. In 2020, 423 campuses from 343 universities participated. Our university has been recognized for its outstanding performance in all areas of evaluation, such as selection, teaching, learning, and facilities. SKKU held a signboard hanging ceremony at the Center for Students with Disabilities in Humanities and Social Sciences Campus to celebrate its selection as the best university for disabled students and to improve educational welfare for disabled students.

- Convergence LC Team Building Event was held for 2021 freshmen University College (Dean. Hong Seung Woo) held a Convergence LC Team Building event for 2021 freshmen from 2.15 (Monday) to 17 (Wednesday). The event was held in compliance with the COVID-19 quarantine guidelines, including wearing masks, using hand sanitizers, and keeping quarantine distance. LC Team Building is an event designed to provide a meeting place for freshmen to enjoy their university lives more smoothly and joyfully. It was held to share information and continue to build relationships with each other before the new semester begins. About 1,200 freshmen from 93 convergence LCs participated in the event, and teams of about 10 students per classroom were organized on each campus. Sungkyun mentors’ academic guide, interaction through Webex, meetings with FG seniors, recreation, and campus tours (Sungkyunkwan, Library, etc.) were held. Freshmen who participated in the event were presented with school brochures, a Guide for Freshman, an alumni bulletin, and a tumbler with a school mark as souvenirs. Due to COVID-19, they provided roll cakes instead of refreshments so that they could have it with their families. In the future, two FG students for each convergence LC will closely support freshmen and actively communicate and manage them. At the entrance ceremony, you can also see them in pictures through the program "2021 Freshmen’s First Meeting with SKKU!"

- Institute for Anglo-American Cultural Studies introduces "MBSR Meditation" for students tired of COVID-19 - It introduces a meditation program in the field of contemplative science, which will overcome times of multiple crises. Institute for Anglo-American Cultural Studies (Chief: Prof. Son Hye Sook) will begin a meditation program for students who are tired of COVID-19. Institute for Anglo-American Cultural Studies has been intensively reviewing and studying the field of meditative science for the past two years to improve students' mental health, creativity and leadership. It will present its first program, MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction), in a syndemic situation where various types of diseases and disasters are causing multiple crises. MBSR, the most influential meditation science program in the U.S., is well-received as a scientific healing model for modern people exposed to various mental and physical problems such as anxiety, stress, and panic disorder. It is used as an educational program in more than 750 universities across the U.S. Prof. Son Hye Sook said, "Many people are suffering from extreme stress due to the prolonged COVID-19, and Corona Blue is coming up as a social issue. In times of multiple crises such as climate change, various disasters, and instability of the global economic system as well as COVID-19, the existing crisis management manual needs to be combined with a healing model.” In addition, she said, “We should be pay attention to the active introduction of meditation programs into the public education system led by Congress, government, and national institutions in the U.S. from the 2000s.” MBSR meditation consists of various contents based on mindfulness, such as sitting, walking, eating, breathing, body scan and yoga. It aims to develop physical intelligence, emotional intelligence, creative intelligence and contextual intelligence, and foster social practice skills that can coexist harmoniously with others in the balance of body and mind.

- University College operates Pre-College online University College operates Pre-College online from 1.21 (Thursday) to 2.19 (Friday) to establish identity as a member of SKKU and inspire loyalty to our university. Pre-College, a program for students who were accepted by the university through nonscheduled admission, consists of online classes such as programs and MOOC courses that can be learned in advance about the basic academic field. It provides freshmen with the right direction for studies and life in university and provides essential information for adapting to the changing educational environment of the university in advance. Credit courses are operated from 1.25 (Monday) to 2.5 (Friday) and one credit is recognized for each course. Noncredit courses are operated from 1.21 (Thursday) to 2.19 (Friday) and there are 19 courses. ※ Thoughts of students attending Pre-College - Kim Min Kyu (Humanities Science) “It was good to learn the overall function and usage of Hangul systematically through practical lectures. I will try to write a high-quality report when I enter the university later.” - Lee So Jeong (Global Economics) “It was good to know about i-Campus system in advance while registering for classes. I think these classes are helpful for a basic understanding of regular semester subjects.” - Jeon Yeo Jun (Nature Science) “It was a good opportunity to experience programs such as Excel and Access before entering the university. - SKKU Extension School opens AI course on Coursera, a global MOOC platform SKKU Extension School opens artificial intelligence course in Korean for the first time on Coursera, the world's largest MOOC platform. Coursera, opened in 2012, signed a partnership agreement with SKKU early last year and has been strengthening cooperation. 'Fundamentals of CNNs and RNNs' course is a total of four-week self-paced learning lecture to learn the structure of CNNs and RNNs, the basis of artificial intelligence learning. The lecture will be given by Professor Lee Jee Hyong, Dean of Artificial Intelligence Department, who has conducted AI education programs for employees of Samsung SDS and LG Electronics. It is expected to meet the needs of Korean learners of Coursera, who had to take English classes due to the lack of AI educational content in Korean language. If learners hope to learn more after completing this course focused on CNNs and RNNs, they can use SKKU Extension School's own platform to learn the entire AI basic theory course, including Deep Learning (25 weeks/12 hours) and Machine Learning (58 weeks/17 hours) by Professor Lee Jong Wuk of College of Computing. - 2020 University College Day was held successfully University College held 『2020 University College Day』 in Humanities and Social Sciences Campus on November 26 (Thu). University College Day was held to share know-how through organizing and evaluating LC (Learning Community) activities of freshmen in University College for one year. Also, it was held to promote best practice cases and performance of various FYE programs such as Creative Study Group. This year, LC Athletic Competition was not held due to the special situation caused by COVID-19, but the presentation and awards of the best LC Portfolio 2 teams and the best Creative Study Group 2 teams were held. The event was carried out in compliance with the quarantine rules (distanced seating, wearing masks, etc.) with less than 30 attendees. 2 LCs for grand prize and 20 LCs for excellence prize were selected in LC Portfolio. And in Creative Study Group, 2 teams for grand prize and 5 teams for excellence prize were selected among 376 teams in spring semester and 289 teams in fall semester. Professor Yoo Hong Jun, Vice-president of Humanities and Social Sciences Campus, said “I'm very proud of you who have been running for a year without losing your positive mind despite the difficult situation caused by COVID-19.
