- Those who want to be communicating 'us', FG
- Those who want to be communicating 'us', FG "We are companions of freshmen." We met Freshmen Guides (FGs) which guide freshmen who feel everything unfamiliar, and interviewed Park Hye Rim (Public Administration, 16), a president of Humanities and Social Science Campus, and Seo Hui Won (French Language and Literature, 16), a vice-president of Humanities and Social Science Campus. Freshmen Guide(FG) is one of the organizations that freshmen of University College meet frequently before they matriculate at a university and during college life. You may think that FGs guide simply college life of freshmen, but they ready for big and small events with freshmen. Every year, they organize pre-orientation and whole orientation for freshmen, and help the events like 'University College Day.' At the other times, they manage Freshmen Lounge for freshmen. Among these busy schedules, the president Park looked energetic, saying "We always work with pleasant mind because it is not only us that have busy works." Vice-president Seo added, "Although it is hard, when I look people working hard together, I become to work harder involuntarily. And then it seems that I work pleasantly, forgetting hard one." President Park explained FG with communication and passion. FGs host general meeting every Monday, p.m. 6. In an atmosphere of freedom, FGs exchange project proposal of coming events and feedback of past events. Not only is communication delivered in the FGs but also they deliver important notices relevant with university to the students including freshmen through facebook Page. We can see not only communication but also their passion at the general meeting. There are a lot of cases that meeting goes along until late at night to make the best events for freshmen. This passion can be watched at an athletic meeting or orientation which they make progress. An affection for freshmen is a driving force of FG activity. President Park showed the affection for freshmen for freshmen, saying "One of the causes that I have been FG is to want to communicate with freshmen." President Park said that not only her but also all FGs have the minds that want to communicate with freshmen. Vice-president Seo showed the warm hearts of FGs for freshmen, saying "FGs always make efforts to help freshmen adapt well to College life on the basis of the minds wanting to communicate with freshmen. Meanwhile, FG lately had trouble in communication with other organizations. In fact, FGs were criticized from other organizations that they promoted own organization in advance to freshmen before entrancement. President Park talked about this problem, "We didn't any deed to harm fairness in terms of promotion," and promised, "We will make a lot of communications with other organizations not to leave misapprehension. What is the figures that FGs want? President Park and vice-president Seo said in chorus that they want FG to be remembered the being 'us'. Vice-president Seo emphasized the creed of FG, 'making a short meeting of OT to lifelong relation.' President Park also added, "If students remember FG, we want them to have good memories about us. Not only freshmen but also students." We hope that FGs continuously achieve their wishes to be with everyone and lifelong relations. University College
